So today is a Sunday and I've had a really nice relaxing day, I went and got a hair-trim, and poked around the city. Now a hair trim for me is a little silly HOWEVER there may have been an instance in the past little while that I just may have been holding a glass of Australias best $7.99 dollar wine and decided to cut a few pieces in attempts to fix it. Hmmmm So I figured I would just get a few millimeters off and even it out (Didn't work so well). Also the back seemed to grow quickly and I was starting to look a little like a mulletish trailer park girl.
Now on to things more important and less vain then my stupid hair (I'm sure none of you really care).
So today was productive in the sense that
1)I got all my references in order (which I dropped off along with my application yesterday)
2)I hunted down an old assistant manager from Bux and handed it in
So Danny (that's the managers name) says he will call me this afternoon/tomorrow sometime
Everything in my mind is actually quiet and relaxed as of today/yesterday. Before to be honest, I was a little stressed about finding a job bla bla bla.....So I figure things can really only go one of two ways here and where decide my path will be relies purely on fate. My ideas go as such.........
1) I get the job @ Bux and stay in Sydney for maybe 2 more months....Live the city life bla bla bla....hmm!
2) I don't get the job and I give my weeks notice and get out of the city and go somewhere more unique and Australian.
I'm sure whichever option happens I will have a blast and enjoy doing what I do. However a part of me really doesn't want to be in Sydney anymore. Don't get me wrong, it's a great city and there is a lot to do/see. But I don't feel like I'm doing the things that I truly want to do with regards to my travels. Sydney is a lot like Toronto, except if your resoursful you can find pubs/clubs that will give you free booze. It's also a lot more social. The locals from here are a lot like Toronto and everyone is a number just like any big city. But everywhere you go there are other people in your shoes that want to meet and talk to others. For the most part I meet a lot of Brits, and people from Europe (some Canadians too). From what I have gathered the cities of Oz are a little like this
Sydney--->Toronto
Melbourne-->Vancouver (if I'm going to be in a city I'd rather be here)
I was looking @ this travel mag today and when I saw all the pictures of the beautiful reefs/rain forests/beaches my heart got sent to a flutter. Partying/pubs/clubs/people/lights will be everywhere in the world that I go. I feel that my travel time is precious and that it's just silly to be in Sydney unless I'm making and saving a bit of money. So that's my story about work....I will keep you updated with regards to me getting/not getting the job.
That's enough talk about jobs (Stupid Work)<--I'm such a North American workaholic it makes me sick
So lets seee.............The weekend was nice. I hung out with this cool girl Tara from the IEP program on Friday. I met some Promo girls on the street who gave me like 10 fliers to go for free drinks @ this bar (score---that's what I mean about places giving you free booze) This is also the case on special nights, that you can go and drink for free for an hour or two. Most people stay and do the sleazy backpack thing. However my Friend Rebecca and I were smart and used that and then hoped over to somewhere with a happy hour (such a thrifty little Candian Beave I am)...So we went had maybe 4 glasses of wine and then left to look at the lights @ Town Hall (The pictures I took turned out bad so maybe I'll put some later)...It was a nice night though, nothing real crazy but a nice mellow night downtown.
Yesterday I went to Bondi Beach with the Flatmates thier awesome. It was so nice, I read some of my book, and then jumped in the ocean for a bit, and we went out for dinner after. The waves are fun in NSW. I kept getting knocked over and I accidentally flashed some German girls that I made friends with (haha)--The Scandal and controversy---
Anyways those are the highlights of what's going on
I'm gonna make another post and post some pics....
Love:
Chrissy
