Happy Monday!!!
^^My attempt in being festive^^
Well hello there, so another weekend has passed, leaving me sitting here on a Monday after an exciting day of work followed by a coffee school class...(uh)
So the weekend was nice, had a few big nights, along with some chilling. I found myself in Woolongong on Saturday to go to my friends work party. It was pretty sweet, open bar and all too. I must say I"m proud ofmy composure throughout the night and played it cool, I sipped my drinks like a lady. The party was for an engineering firm so it was mostly older people too. I suppose it started @ around 7:00(ish)... Some guy decided to show up shit faced and fell down the stairs at the beginning of the party (twice)...Who does that? Anyways he got kicked out, before the party started. That's quite the embarassment, I'd feel like such an ass coming into work on Monday. Why on earth would you show up to an open bar event already drunk...at 7:00 too....hmm....??
In ways I wish that I would have moved there instead of staying in Sydney. It's a very darling town, and so close to the beach, I will have to pay it a visit again in the near future. There are a lot of cute cafes and such on the strip, when I was walking around I thought how much better it would be to work in an authentic place instead of gay American Starbucks. Oh well I shant bash myself, I suppose everything is a learning experience. It's only two months of my life as well....I just need to smile and try to work a reasonable amount of hours and all is happy and lovely.
So what else...?? Hmmm I went for a lady night last night. It was pretty tame, being a Sunday and all. We went to the Gaff which was pretty lame, so we decided to go somewhere different. We were on Oxford St. which is the "colourful" area of town *nudge*. We heard awesome amazing dance music from across the street and our faces lit up with glee. So I skipped across the road like a kid on her way to a candy store for the first time. When I got to the door, passport in hand the bouncer kinda looked at me and smirked (in that aweeee you must be new sort of way). Anyways it was "Members only". A quick glance inside told me all too quick what kind of member I had to be, which I most surely am not. It's not fair why can't straight people get to listen to really good music on a Sunday night. Meh I shant complain, though. It was pretty cute because all we wanted to do was find SOMEWHERE to go that was not................
1)Side Bar
2)Scubar
These are the "backpacker" bars, in the central district. It's pretty gay there to be honest. It's full of people (guys in particular) that are a little too excited to have gotten off the plane, and the music is always pretty gay as well. We just sat in our little girl corner and pretended all the lame people didn't exsist. Imagination can go a long way I suppose. We met a really strange ogre like character from America....uhh I really don't like any Americans I have met so far...Of course this is nothing new at all, but it just reinforces my views on them. I wont go on about them though, there may be a few nice ones out there, but thier probably hiding under a rock or something. I really don't like how people may mistake me for being American either. I met someone on Saturday that said the most darling thing though, it went a little like this..
Me: Hey there (bla bla) My names Chrissy what's yours?
Dude: Oh I'm (insert name here, I'm bad with names) So where are you from? Canada?
Me: Ya I am, how did you know?
Dude: Well all the Canadians I've met have sounded like Americans, only thier nice and not assholes...!!!
Aweee that brought my spirts up.......moving right along
Anyways it kinda ended up that those were the only places open so we went to Scubar for a Pint....We met awesome Aussie girls from Queensland on the way though who joined us.
Today was alright, I worked and my shift went alright. I had Espresso school afterwards, which was a bit of a bore. Apparently I make a pretty good latte but my cappachino could use a little less foam. Maybe the way Canada taught me was wrong bla bla...oh well....Anyways I'm pretty sure that this Internet cafe is probably closing soon. The guy is wiping tables and looking excited that the night is coming to an end...so I should quit here..
Good Night/Morning <--whenever you read this....
