Sandwiches
(And the pain)
that
they
can give you when
consumed before bed
Sandwiches before bed are not a good idea. I think that the sandwich that I ate may have given me magical powers. I am now completely awake. I probably drank too much coffee today @ work, and am not ready to slumber....
For some extremely odd reason I woke up feeling extremely hungover today. This was odd as I only had three drinks last night and I sipped them with my sweet Kiwi friend Rebecca over an extended period of time. We had shared a little bit of wine @ Darling Harbour out of the paper bag (real classy-like), and then shared one Vodka Red Bull @ Starbar, while contemplating playing a game of pool. Perhaps the water I should have consumed was replaced by espresso and tea, leaving me feeling awfully sick today. Because of this I called in sick to my Peter Pan shift (an extremely awesome move that I don't regret)....I imagined bumping into my crazy clean freak boss all day and her being like *huff* feeling better Chrissy????!!! Luckily for me this wasn't the case.
Anyways I went back to sleep afterwards and was woken up by my phone. Of course it was my neighbour Starbuck store that called me into work, which I surely accepted. I was happy to go into work, even though it was a very long shift. I got to work with my friend from IEP from Canada, good times were had by all. Anyways Starbucks has an evil rule that you can't take stuff home @ the end of the night (a sin I hate being wasteful). So me being the bad ass that I am stashed all these stupid sandwiches and fruit cups in random places and bolted out the door with them (the manager was in the back room). Tara and I went to the pub after to have a glass of wine and split up the rations to feed our backpacking room ates and ourselves. I realy only wanted the fruit and two sandwiches to later disect into my eating rituals. However temptation hit and this is where the story begins and ends.
Which leads the story into the present, of me not being able to sleep after having this nice chicken sandwich. I didn't really eat all day due to my bizarre hangover, so when I got home I was real hungry. It started with me having half and then I was like FUCK IT I'm hungry and my belly needs food......I wont make that mistake again...it's not almost two in the morning and I may take an herbal sleeping aid or something to assist me on this rough night.
Nothing is extremely new since I last wrote in my pink little blog. I finally mailed some Christmas cards which I feel bad will probably arrive after NY. It's the thought that counts though, *sorry Mom and Dad* I hope you still love me (hehe)......
Christmas is kinda funny and strange here. The city does not really feel festive @ all. There are some lights and decorations here and there, but I seem to forget what time of year it is most of the time. I feel very calm and tranquil this time of year, not having to deal with all the crap of Christmas is AWESOME. Usually I spend countless hours shopping, and making cards, possibly baking cookies with peoples names in frosting etc. This year I feel like I'm in a smooth sail boat just floating around and enjoying the scenery. I will miss being with the Fam and all, but there will be next year, and Christmas really is just another day. I have a xmas party with IEP this Wednesday @ the Botanical gardens....I'm kinda excited. BBQ seafood and wine oh MY!!!!.....
Speaking of Christmas One real darling thing happened as I was crossing the street before work. I was walking by a bus and all I heard was HO HO HO....most Sydney bus drivers are not very nice, and I thought it was a fit of hostility at first. To my dismay as I glanced over it was a bus driver dressed in FULL OUT SANTA GEAR....He had the hat, the beard, the big red suit, and was waving at everyone out the window. Everyone was laughing and smiling, and having a jolly old time watching Santa driving the Bus.....It was such a beautiful thing, it's so sweet when someone does something like that. It brings the world together and gives us all something to smile about. If I drove a bus I would definitely do something like that, dressing up is what I love to do best.
I figure whatever you do in life you may as well have fun doing it, despite having a real long day @ work I had a lot of fun today. I was twirling a little, and dancing around. Every time we had a Canadian customer I'd give them a high five and we would end up talking about snow or something. I really enjoy talking to all the travellers, most of them are real nice. Some customers are real cows but for the most part 99% of them are cool. It's funny when dealing with rude customers I'm just really polite to them and then they kinda catch themselves and sometimes realize how ungraceful they look. It amuses me and makes time go by faster, I enjoy it very much so.
Anyways that's all I should babble tonight
Wish me luck with my terrible sandwich-itis.....
Love:
Chrissy

wow, sounds like you're having an awesome time. I was close with an aussie girl up until december 17th, when she left toronto to move back to adelaide.

the details of your travels are awesome. i'm actually kind of jealous. i'm bored of toronto and ontario for that matter. i'm seriously considering to be on aussie soil sometime withen the next year. i am not sure if kirsten would agree with some of your opinions of australia, but I think seeing a canadians view of the land down under is very interesting. I was especially interested in the part about most expensive cities in the world. I was shocked to see that sydney would be more expensive than toronto. then again, when you look at toronto, it's not a very touristy city like sydney. i understand why you're kind of thinking of leaving sydney if it's similar to torontos lifestyle. you travel for change, not for routine. but i found this link
http://money.cnn.com/2005/06/21/pf/costliest_cities/
Tokyo is ranked number 1, NYC is unlucky 13, Sydney is 20th and Toronto is 82nd in order of most expensive cities.

anyhow, I really enjoyed reading over your blogs. this is the first time I have ever replied to a blog, so helped me pop my blog cherry. i had to work x-mas eve, today (x-mas day), boxing day, then I have to work new years eve and new years day (all shifts mentioned are midnight shifts). it's a bah-hum-bug season for me. anyhow, merry x-mas to you. hope your travels continue to produce interesting and fun blogs.
