Okay I'm going to see how much I can type in the next 28 minutes and 53 seconds.....Internet is like gold where I am right now and I probably wont use the net for a while...so first off I'm alive sorry Mom and Dad and anyone who may have thought I died..
Allow me to give a brief update up until now
- I worked at Beaches and really hated it on my third day I took off like a bandit and drove up the coast to the wettest part of Australia where it rains pretty much all the time right now...This land of water is called Tully...There is a giant gum boot when you enter the town that is 7.9 meters high to signify the crazy/worst floods they have had.....
- Will/Travis and myself got a job at a banana farm and it's the funniest/worst thing ever.....Travis is taking bags off of bananas and hanging them up while rats/bats/snakes/spiders attack him (especially in the morning)....Will is stacking boxes on a skit alllll day and putting the lids on them....
- I am a banana inspector and stand by a water belt and throw bad bananas into a conveyor belt that goes into a truck...I have so much banana shit on my hands that I don't know will ever come off....and kill a ton of spiders ever day....sometimes frogs and bats come through too...when ur in the fields there is Heaps of crazy snakes and bla blah...
- The highlight of the week at work was that I learned how to drive a tractor and it was the best ever.....I stalled it twice but once I got the hang of it it was heaps sweet ass.....
- The hostel that we're in is called Banana barricks and when I was taking a nap the owner came in and asked for me...I woke up real wonky and he offered me a job as a barmaid at the pub....so I get free accom....good times...I like
Okay now that the main points are out of the way I can gibber gabber about smaller things.....It's funny how easy I can change my mind with where I will be going and when....Last night my travel brothers and I were SET on getting the fuck out of this town and never coming back. We felt the banana rage and were slowly slipping into states the crazies. A few things have kinda made me change my mind to stay another week though...
The first is the people @ the hostel are really amazingly cool....I actually look forward to seeing them when I get off work. We made friends with a bunch of Japanese people who don't really speak a lot of english but have a love for UNO and hair cuts. We met some really rad Canadian dudes that may travel down the coast with us perhaps.....bla bla I suppose it doesn't really matter....but heaps of nice people....The other was when I looked in my bank account and for the first time in the last month and a half of my hippy styles has it grown....it's actually alright cash too....I have no complaints....I'm just all buttery that it's Friday and I got free bbq/beer at work..good times....
Yesterday though was another story....The last hour of work all I wanted to do was take a banana and whip it and watch it explode in to thousands of little pieces...I'm never angry but every stupid reject banana that I found I wanted to punish it, and put it where it belongs.....by the end of the day I'm a wonky ass zombie....(we all are though) we giggle about everything because it's just such drull work and we get a little crazy......Hopefully though Trav and I will get to switch jobs next week....maybe packing would be an alright change.....hmmm
as mentioned before though the tractor was sooooo awesome......I hope I get to go on Tractor duty again it's JOKES!!!! aweeeee watching the Banana humpers (that's what you call it when the boys chop off the sweet yellow fruits) is crazy.....They have the sharpest knife that chops them off and they just carry these 80 kilo bunches over to the tractor....It's quite intriguing to wat ch
hmmmmm what else can I talk about............not too sure really.........Our room is a shed but a big improvement from when we first got here...We moved to the caravan park and bailed on that idea after the first night...As I mentioned it rains ALLLL the time pretty much and our tents are all crumpled up in the trunk of the car right now...I fear for my life when I will open it up and finaly decide to clean it...The thing is it will never dry because it's never not raining here pretty much...(except now it's only sprinkling)...When I was taking down the tent our canadian friends were slip and sliding in the mud on body boards...OMG I wanted to play soooooo bad....but we were kinda rush rush getting the tents down and in a soggy mood ..ba humbug...haha....The next time it rains real hard like that though I'm running my ass over I can't wait....
Tully has really nice rain forest here though and HUGE mountains...tomorrow Will/Travis/and our two dude Canuck friends were going to climb it...there is a big river that goes down it too...should be good times can't wait....bla bla...anyways I only used up 14 of my minutes but spell checking takes a little so I will go....
P.S. I will post pictures when I get to a comp that has USB...Some of them are pretty funny....Us in action on the farm...aweeeee*mwah*
