Here is a picture I stole off the net of Townsville. That is the mountain that you can climb

By the way

Snorkling and Diving was amazing . I'm on the right hand side, my friend bought a water proof camera and hooked me up with some copies via Face Book. It's real strange diving @ first you feel kinda funny like you have no balance or something. We swam around though and got to touch some fish and admire really beautiful coral. It's hard for the camera to do the dive justice but I'm sure you kinda get the idea.....

It's refreshing to be on a computer again, I love typing and every now and again I almost feel withdrawals from the lovely habit I have obtained over the years.
So let me see what is new..........
Since Cairns I got a ride down to Townsville where I was planning on hanging out until my jobs are ready down south. Basically in a nut shell it's been a week almost, and work should start soon. In the mean time I decided to treat myself to a few days @ Magnetic Island over the weekend. It was absolutely lovely, and I would love to go back there. It's silly because I've pretty much been on vacation since I have gotten here, however I haven't really ever taken the time to really enjoy myself and not worry about working or something alike. I met a cool Dutch girl and we rented a sweet-as little two seater greenish Suzuki that we drove ourselves around in all day. We fed Wallabys, had an fire @ the beach, went on some walks, held some koalas/snakes/crocodiles/bla bla @ the farm.
I got back from the magcial island Sunday morning and once I showered all the sand off my body, I decided to go on a walk. In Townsville there is an awesome mountain in the middle of the city. It's called Castle hill and there are all these amazing trails to climb up. I have been pestering everyone to go constantly and nobody ever wants to go with me...So I just went up on my own. The first half of the story is a little embarassing because these locals told me to go down this path that is not really a path. There are heaps of ways to go up the mountain, and I guess I kinda took one of the wrong roads, and was not too sure where to go. Anyways it really did look like a path @ first but then there were some sketchy patches of grass that I went through because I'm stubourne and really wanted to walk around and play. Anyways About five minutes into it I was thinking I should go back and find another way. Some patches of missing grass may have been mistaken for the incorrect ones though, and I got all stuck in really high crazy grass long enough to have a good panic. It was scary because it was up to my shoulders and I couldn't see my thongs and all I could think about was spider holes and snakes. Sometimes there would be holes in the ground too and my foot would get sortof stuck in them...ahhh... Anyways I got out fine, I hoped up on this stupid rock and went through this ditch into someones backyard...I must have looked like such a looser. The worst part about it is my body looks like I have been lashed by a whip all on my thighs and arms...sortof embarassing. I don't know why I'm writing about this actually, because the story does have a happy ending...
So I went all the way back to town to get more water and then went up the mountain the proper way. It was actually one of the best times I have had recently. I met this sortof weird Mom, and her extremely mature 14 year old daughter whom I hung out with for about an hour and a half. They were really cool to hang out with, and it was nice meeting some locals. The view @ the top was so amazing, I'm going up again today to take some pictures (my camera was dead yesterday, so I took really bad cell phone pictures bla). As a matter of fact I'm going up every day until I leave the wonderful land of Townsville. It really is a great town, and there are hardly any backpackers too which is sweet. The whole place is historic looking, and artsy. A little similar to Cairns, but much more spread out and easy on the eyes.
Anyways I'll post some pictures later I have heaps it's actually quite sick how many I have to upload. *mwah*
bye

Heya........

I booked my snorkeling and intro dive for tomorrow....I'm pretty excited for it......I haven't gone snorkeling since I was in Mehiko, and never really gone diving before.

Today I did a whole lot of nothing and everything....Walked around and such, it was a really nice day. Getting my money from my old job is a real pain too.....My boss is pretty frantic all the time and it's just a bunch of running around and nothing really getting done....so I have to go back tomorrow....grrr....

Now I'm just sitting @ Bohemias stealing their Internet and killing time. Tonight will be an early night because of the early dive tomorrow morning. I'm so stoked.....

Anyways that's really all I have to say...bye now

Here are a bunch of random pics from various things..........The waterfall pictures are the Table Lands I was talking about it's beautiful there...The last one that we went to has really nice swimming as well...
The others are Pet store pictures, which is one of my favourite things to do...
Also putting Tranny fluid in the car for the trek to Townsville....
Hello World.........

Well things are taking shape and sorting itself out nicely over the past week........Up in Cairns now....just hanging out...We all got to see Trav which so great....

As I mentioned before other then the terrible things that happened in Cairns I really like it up here....I missed it....Date and fig runs have vastly improved, and I have my own room that I'm staying in for a few days....Sweet as...

Today I was a lucky girl and got a days work with an tree cutter...It was a real easy job and nice cash in hand so that was excellent...That can pay for my snorkeling that I'm supposed to go to tomorrow....((which I'm very excited about))

I don't really have anything outstandingly amazing to write about....I played hooky a day in a half and ducked out of bananas...We went to the table lands instead and saw a bunch of really nice waterfalls...It was a fun road trip...Friday was a big night a bunch of us all went to the ministry of sound party that we got free tickets to...Good times...So last night was a quiet one...I got this DVD set of 20 really bad B movies like wasp woman, and attack of the giant leeches....I watched two of them...Wasp woman was pretty slow...she didn't turn to the dark side until the very end..haha Good times were hand though

Anyways my Internet time will run out soon, and I'll spend the rest of my time uploading some pictures

It's insane how from Easter to April 18th so much has changed.........

Everything in life generally changes extremely quickly when you are backpacking. This is typically a good thing. Usually such a wonderful thing that changing routine almost becomes like this magical drug that you just want to keep going....or be somewhere and saving money....None of that really happened in Cairns for the most part....Other then the handful of terrible things that happened Cairns is a really darling place....however the past week Cairns seemed to be angry and unfortunate incidents occured.

My dear friend Travis got into an accident and was flown to Townsville (I wont get into the details I'm sure anyone who knows him and is reading this already knows)....Basically it was the scariest thing I have ever gone through, and I'm am so happy that he is going to be okay. This happened about a week and a half ago on a Saturday night....

We went down to see him in Townsville and I honestly was not sure what to expect....I was so relieved though when I saw he was okay. He should be getting out this week so I must divise a plan to kidnap his butt...

After coming back from Townsville I moved to Innisfail to another stinking banana town and am banana sorting all day and it's the greatest experience I've ever had *sarcasm* ....a*hem...
Sometimes I just sink deep into weird fantasy day dream rants and vision dumb situations to make time go faster....Sometimes when a song that I like comes on the radio I'll think how cool it would be if the whole factory broke out into dance Broadway styles....Examples as the banana inspectors would hop on the bad banana belt and dance down...as the cutters would do cartwheels in the water doing tricks with their knives...Then the hangers could swing from the banana ropes, as the humpers come in on the tractor all singing in harmony styles.....The packers could maybe play the drums on thier boxes and do a stomp like routine...Ohhh the possibilities are endless really....

Yesterday I thought all the inspectors were going to get the axe...I swear...The banana gods were angry.....At this point I don't care because I have one and a half more days until I ditch this banana career... In the mean time I will pick out bad bananas and throw them on a moving belt that gets taken to a big truck and then dumped in a field somewhere in a land of mystery......

I don't really have much more to say to be honest......I'm just really glad that Trav is okay...Anything else that I would have to say would be quite trivial and petty.........(I suppose most things are really)......

So bye now...................
Bananas are evil

Happy chocolate egg easter day
(Rabbits are illegal in Queensland - I swear to god I asked at the pet store)
Good morning/afternoon/evening or whatever it is......
hmmm things to say lets see...........

  1. My work is extremely douchey(I wont get into it it doesn't rally matter) and I'm going to quit tonight and drive down the coast on Wednesday....I need to book my diving/bla bla bla.....
  2. Today is Good Friday...........I was hoping everyone would be too hungover to be in the TV room so I could be an angel/evil girl and lock it and do yoga...No such luck.....there is always tomorrow I suppose
  3. Today I think our little Canadian Krew is supposed to go on a road trip but everyone is hungover and sleeping right now...I was an angel/geek last night and went on a magical mission and didn't go to the silly back packer bar called the Wool Shed (where everyone else went). The Wool Shed is a retarded sleazy back packer bar that is beyond terrible. Instead of a dance floor they just have tables you dance on. I went there by accident on Monday and we all just hung out in a circle...I kinda backed myself in a corner so I didn't have to talk to a lot of random looser guys that spit on your face when they talk because their just that drunk. I could throw up....
So last night I actually did a little knitting, and drew a portrait of the shelf in our room. It sounds quite boring but looking back at it now it was actually pretty fun. I didn't really do anything like that since I had my place in Sydney......I think back to when I was in Canada and I would do stuff like that somewhat often...every now and again just sit in my bean bag chair and draw or listen to music or whatever.....Backpacking I find myself and everyone I know don't really do things like that anymore......maybe I should do that more often
But anyways it was a nice evening.......I have no complaints.......
Actually I have nothing to say for the most part
no picture to post
bla
bla
blaaaa
Maybe after the little 'road trip' I'll have some
Hopefully it wont be a picture of Jud dead on the road
Be good to us Jud we love you
*mwah*

Today is Tuesday???

My how fast time flies when your having fun.....Today was actually a delightful day....I hung out with my new gal pal Ashley and had a girly day full of date runs, a bead shop (where we made cool anklets/bracelets) and battery stores........We were in the midst of getting our supplies for the detox soup party tonight, when Lisa popped up as we were squeezing exotic fruits.

Our soup party was a success, as the pictures above clearly illistrate that.....Now we're just hanging out trying not to spend money and playing compulsively on face book...possibly play some twister afterwards...we will see

Good Eve/Morning

Hello I don't really have much to write about, but I am so sick of playing on face book that I could puke all over the hostel computer...........For any of you who do not have face book it is the greatest and worst thing ever...it's like My Space times a million and it is so distracting that just usually spend all my stolen Internet time on it......

Anyways today was a delightful day.......I went to work, work was real relaxed....My crazy boss who is usually running a muck and freaking out about everything and nothing was not in a vicious mood today (which means it's almost a good mood)....He looked at me today with his evil eyes and said he was a little hungry. I prayed to myself at this point

"Please don't ask for me to make anything but salad. I don't cook much at the restaurant, sometimes I prep. I'm still learning what stupid pretentious gay foods there are" (it's a gay bar)

However he replied with "a salad will do", as he walked away

I made a really nice salad, to which he said was a good salad...My heart almost dropped when he said it. I was expecting him to critique my salad harshly and unfairly. It's a good thing I'm so talented in the world of Salad....mmhmmm......Anyways nothing crazy busy happened so it was a good night...I got to drink Tequila and Gin and that made it even better.......One guy came in that was so drunk that he dropped all his coins on the ground *cha ching*...lately I've been making tips which is wicked good for Australia...nobody tips here it's not like Canada....I think tipping every time you go to the bar @ a club or something is stupid though...the Aussies have it down with that I think. Waitresses/Waiters are different but meh, I always found it discouraging to tip every time I would go and order one beer that take no time to open.........meh meh......

Soooooooooooooo Travis and my little plan is that we're going to leave with Juddy next Wednesday or Thursday....I'm going to quit work sometime mid-week or something....and book my snorkeling and whatnot for next week between mon-wed........Then it's down to Airlie to do the Whitsundays/Fraiser...These are the big attractions of the east coast that I would feel real guilty if I do not do them. The Whitsundays are heaps of islands that you go on this party boat and hop from place to place... Fraiser is the worlds biggest sand island and it's supposed to be amazing...I look forward to it...Then Ideally to Mardi Grass which is a big hippy festival in Nimbin where everyone goes camping and east lots of 'salad', and sings koom-bye-ya.....ohmmm...

Anyways I have nothing of importance to say.....bye now
