It's refreshing to be on a computer again, I love typing and every now and again I almost feel withdrawals from the lovely habit I have obtained over the years.
So let me see what is new..........
Since Cairns I got a ride down to Townsville where I was planning on hanging out until my jobs are ready down south. Basically in a nut shell it's been a week almost, and work should start soon. In the mean time I decided to treat myself to a few days @ Magnetic Island over the weekend. It was absolutely lovely, and I would love to go back there. It's silly because I've pretty much been on vacation since I have gotten here, however I haven't really ever taken the time to really enjoy myself and not worry about working or something alike. I met a cool Dutch girl and we rented a sweet-as little two seater greenish Suzuki that we drove ourselves around in all day. We fed Wallabys, had an fire @ the beach, went on some walks, held some koalas/snakes/crocodiles/bla bla @ the farm.
I got back from the magcial island Sunday morning and once I showered all the sand off my body, I decided to go on a walk. In Townsville there is an awesome mountain in the middle of the city. It's called Castle hill and there are all these amazing trails to climb up. I have been pestering everyone to go constantly and nobody ever wants to go with me...So I just went up on my own. The first half of the story is a little embarassing because these locals told me to go down this path that is not really a path. There are heaps of ways to go up the mountain, and I guess I kinda took one of the wrong roads, and was not too sure where to go. Anyways it really did look like a path @ first but then there were some sketchy patches of grass that I went through because I'm stubourne and really wanted to walk around and play. Anyways About five minutes into it I was thinking I should go back and find another way. Some patches of missing grass may have been mistaken for the incorrect ones though, and I got all stuck in really high crazy grass long enough to have a good panic. It was scary because it was up to my shoulders and I couldn't see my thongs and all I could think about was spider holes and snakes. Sometimes there would be holes in the ground too and my foot would get sortof stuck in them...ahhh... Anyways I got out fine, I hoped up on this stupid rock and went through this ditch into someones backyard...I must have looked like such a looser. The worst part about it is my body looks like I have been lashed by a whip all on my thighs and arms...sortof embarassing. I don't know why I'm writing about this actually, because the story does have a happy ending...
So I went all the way back to town to get more water and then went up the mountain the proper way. It was actually one of the best times I have had recently. I met this sortof weird Mom, and her extremely mature 14 year old daughter whom I hung out with for about an hour and a half. They were really cool to hang out with, and it was nice meeting some locals. The view @ the top was so amazing, I'm going up again today to take some pictures (my camera was dead yesterday, so I took really bad cell phone pictures bla). As a matter of fact I'm going up every day until I leave the wonderful land of Townsville. It really is a great town, and there are hardly any backpackers too which is sweet. The whole place is historic looking, and artsy. A little similar to Cairns, but much more spread out and easy on the eyes.
Anyways I'll post some pictures later I have heaps it's actually quite sick how many I have to upload. *mwah*
bye
